Liverpool coaches are in Kenya for a special training program organized by Standard Chartered Bank. The English Premier League team’s coaches are training 35 Kenyan coaches as part of their ‘Play On: Train the Trainer’ program, with a focus on empowering female soccer players and their coaches to succeed through sport. The training will include practical tests to gauge the understanding of the topics covered.

Local NGO partner Vijana Amani Pamoja, along with other football academies, is participating in the training. The ‘Play On: Train the Trainer’ program aims to help girls stay in sport and strive for success in all aspects of their lives. Standard Chartered sees the program as a way to identify and nurture talent in the country, especially from vulnerable communities.

The partnership supports sustainable economic and social development and aims to inspire more girls to thrive in the long-term.
