Ferdinand Omanyala will be participating in his first 100m race of the season at the Kip Keino Classic, which will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Coach Geoffrey Kimani is focused on utilizing his expertise and experience to help Omanyala become a record-breaking sprinter. To achieve this goal, Kimani has shifted the focus of Omanyala’s practice sessions from physical strength to mobility and flexibility, which he believes will enable Omanyala to excel in sprinting competitions. Kimani also disclosed that he is working to minimize the time Omanyala’s feet spend on the ground and in the air while sprinting.
Omanyala expressed his determination to set new targets and potentially win a gold medal at the upcoming Paris Olympics. He highlighted the significant role played by his family in supporting his athletic endeavors, with both his parents and his wife encouraging him to strive for success. In particular, Omanyala’s wife, Laventa Amutavi, emphasized her unwavering support for him in achieving outstanding results in his athletic pursuits.
