Kane assists Bayern in completing comeback as Mbappe sends PSG into last 8

Bayern Munich secured a 3-0 victory over Lazio on Tuesday, with Harry Kane scoring a goal in each half to lead his team to the Champions League quarterfinals with a 3-1 aggregate score. Kane’s first-half header cancelled out Lazio’s lead from the first leg, and Thomas Mueller increased the hosts’ lead with a well-placed header before half-time.

In the 66th minute, Kane tapped in a rebound from Leroy Sane’s shot to seal Bayern’s progression. Bayern’s performance was praised for its energy, creativity, and pressing without the ball, keeping their hopes of winning silverware alive and giving coach Thomas Tuchel a temporary reprieve.

Tuchel, who previously won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021, expressed pride in the team’s performance and emphasized the difficulty of winning the trophy. In another match, Kylian Mbappe’s two goals propelled Paris Saint-Germain to a 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad, securing their spot in the Champions League quarterfinals with a 4-1 aggregate score.

Mbappe’s lethal performance left Real Sociedad struggling to contain him, and PSG executed a clear game plan to achieve their objective of both qualifying and winning the match.
