Kenyans Dominate Marathons in Spain and Morocco, Shock Viewers in Thailand: SportPesa Scores & News – Kenya


The Kenyan athletes had a successful weekend, triumphing in various marathons held in Morocco, Spain, Oman, and Thailand. Sammy Kiprop Kitwara won the 2024 Marrakech International marathon in Morocco, finishing in a time of 2:07.55, followed by local runners Omar Ait Chitachen and Mustapha Houdadi. In Spain, Bravin Kiprop and Vincent Kipkorir excelled at the Sevilla Half Marathon, while in Oman, Kenyan runners also had a good outing at the 2024 Al Mouj Muscat road race, with several athletes securing top positions in both the men’s and women’s categories.

Similarly, Kenyan athletes dominated the Thailand-based Buriram Marathon, with nearly all of the top 10 positions in both the men’s and women’s categories being secured by Kenyan runners. The success in Thailand was mirrored by the impressive performances of the Kenyan runners in other international events, showcasing their continued dominance in the sport.

The women’s category also saw outstanding performances, with Kenyan women securing top positions at the Buriram Marathon. Sharon Arusho Chelimo won the race, followed by Caroline Jepchirchir and Sheila Chesang, with several other Kenyan women finishing in the top seven positions.

Overall, the weekend was marked by the triumph of Kenyan athletes across different international marathons, demonstrating their prowess and continued dominance in the sport.
