Daniel Ebenyo Simiu emerged victorious in the 2024 Milan City Marathon in Italy. Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Sophy Jepchirchir achieved a personal best with a second-place finish, completing the race in 2:27.12. The 10000m World Championship silver medalist, Daniel Simiu Ebenyo, displayed an outstanding performance at the 2024 Generali Berlin Half Marathon. Ebenyo led the race from the front and by the 5km mark, his splits were already faster than the current world record set by Jacob Kiplimo in 2021.
Despite slowing down in the final stages, Ebenyo won the title in a time of 59:30. He was closely followed by Kenyan runners Bernard Biwott and Bravin Kiprop. Titus Kimutai Kipkosgei claimed victory in the 2024 Milan City Marathon, clocking a personal best time of 2:07.12. Fellow Kenyan Raymond Kipchumba Choge secured the second position.
In the women’s category, Sophy Jepchirchir achieved a second-place finish in a lifetime best time of 2:27.12. The race was won by Ethiopia’s Tigist Memuye Gebeyahu, with Fantu Shugi Gelasa completing the top three positions.
