Kenya Harlequin head coach Paul ‘Pau’ Murunga is set to lead the record champions Rhinos in the 2024 Rugby Super Series, which will take place on four Saturdays in May 2024. The highly-anticipated tournament has garnered attention following the confirmation of coaching lineups for the participating teams by the Kenya Rugby Union. The coaching lineup includes top rugby tacticians in the country.

Lawrence Buyachi, a two-time Kenya Cup winner with Nakuru RFC, will be leading the Cheetahs in the Super Series tournament, with Simon Wariuki providing assistance. Murunga, a former player who won the tournament with the Buffaloes in 2005 and the Lions in 2008, will be striving to secure victory in the 2024 Rugby Super Series and display his coaching prowess. Maxwell Adaka will be coaching the Buffaloes, with assistance from Felix Ayange and Edwin Achayo, adding to the strong competition in the tournament.

Former Kenyan international Oliver Mang’eni and Bernard Kibet will be coaching the Lions, setting the stage for an exciting clash of talent and expertise. The teams are divided geographically, with specific players being assigned to each one. Buyachi’s coached side, based in Nakuru, will consist of Menengai Oilers, Nakuru, Homeboyz, Impala, Kabarak University, and University of Eldoret, while the Lions will include KCB, Kenyatta University Blak Blad, Mwamba, JKUAT Cougars, South Coast Pirates, and USIU Maritals.

Finally, the Buffaloes, under the leadership of Adaka, will be based in Kakamega and consist of Kabras Sugar, Kisumu, Catholic Monks, Masinde Muliro, and Western Bulls. The exciting return of the Rugby Super Series is set to take place on four Saturdays in May 2024, marking the end of its ten-year hiatus.
