Catherine Moya, a student at the Technical University of Kenya, has been selected to work as a translator at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. She is studying for a Diploma in International Relations at the university, located in Nairobi. Moya’s role will be at the Olympic Village where she will assist athletes, officials, and other participants. The university has also sent over 30 students to France for a language exchange program since 2019.
The upcoming Olympics in July will see several Kenyan teams competing, including Shujaa, Malkia Strikers, and a contingent of runners. Germany-born Kenyan Fencer Alexandra Ndolo and tennis player Angela Okutoyi are among those who have already qualified for the games. Notably, the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) will send a squad of runners, including prominent athletes like Kosgei, Jepchirchir, Chepngetich, Obiri, Wanjiru, and Lokedi. Additionally, new talents like Alexander Munyao, Timothy Kiplagat, Vincent Ngetich, and Benson Kipruto will join forces with Kipchoge to represent Kenya.
The event is scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11.
