Gor Mahia managed to extend their lead at the top of the 23/24 FKF Premier League table to eight points despite being held to a barren draw by Kakamega Homeboyz in a match played on Saturday, April 6 at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. K’Ogalo failed to find the back of the net despite being the better side in the final match of the FKF Premier League Saturday fixtures. Perfect defensive display denied K’Ogalo clear goal-scoring opportunities in both halves, forcing them to share spoils with Kakamega Homeboyz.

Robert Matano’s Tusker succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Kariobangi Sharks in the early kickoff match preceding the Gor Mahia game against Homeboyz. Sharks’ win was inspired by experienced striker John Makwatta who grabbed a brace in a thrilling encounter against the Brewers. Julius Masaba was also on the scoresheet to assure the Slum Boys the much-needed win against second-placed Tusker.

Dennis Oguta and Ojok Deogratious scored Tusker’s goals for the match. Ibrahim Shambi headed home the lone goal in the first half with the fine header earning him the man of the match award. Ulinzi Stars, who eased their relegation fears, held on to the lead until the last minute despite being reduced to 10 men in the closing stage of the match after Mark Bikokwa was given his marching orders.

At Raila Odinga Stadium in Homabay, Shabana FC ended their six-match wait for an FKF Premier win after humiliating Posta Rangers 3-0. Lloyd Kavuchi, Mathew Tegisi, and Brian Michira scored to help the Glamour Boys revive their hopes of surviving relegation. Muhoroni Youth also made a statement after picking up a 2-0 win over Nairobi City Stars.

A goal from Jackson Green and a well-hit free kick from Stephen Bulugu buried City Stars’ hopes at Muhoroni Stadium.
