The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) 50th Anniversary Volleyball Tournament recently kicked off at the Nyayo National Stadium and Moi International Sports Center Kasarani. The tournament is being held to celebrate Kenya Pipeline’s Golden Jubilee.
Defending champions Prisons, who won the league last year, are aiming to secure another trophy. In the tournament’s early matches, top-flight champions General Service Unit (GSU) asserted their title credentials, winning both of their group matches.
This included a 3-0 victory over Equity Bank and another straight sets win against Kenya Army. GSU has now advanced to the quarterfinals to face KAPU.
Equity Bank also secured a place in the quarterfinals with a 3-0 win over Kenya Army, clinching the runners-up slot in their group. They will face KDF in the next stage.
Meanwhile, in Pool A, Trailblazers achieved a straight sets victory over DoD and progressed to the next round. Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) defeated DoD in their second game and emerged as the group winners.
In Group C, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) secured a 3-0 victory over Nairobi Prisons, advancing to the quarterfinals to meet Equity, the runners-up of Group B.
