Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards have discovered their opponents for the preliminary round of the 2024 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup. The draw was held at the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) and was aired live on the FKF Facebook page. Over 30 clubs showed interest in the tournament, which is set to begin on February 24.

Gor Mahia, who currently have a seven-point lead at the top of the national league, will be facing Denmak FC from Kwale in the preliminary round. The little-known team will be looking to upset the reigning champions and make a name for themselves. Gor Mahia, who were knocked out in the quarterfinals last year, last won the FKF Cup in 2021 by defeating arch-rivals AFC Leopards.

In other fixtures, defending cup champions Kakamega Homeboyz will be hosting Solian City, while KCB FC will be battling it out with the Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA). AFC Leopards, on the other hand, will be facing PAC University.

The preliminary round matches are scheduled to be played on January 27, while the round of 32 will take place on February 24 and 25. Premier League sides Bandari FC, Posta Rangers, Kenya Police FC, and FC Talanta will also start in the preliminary round, facing off against lower tier sides.

The champions of the FKF Cup will have the opportunity to represent Kenya in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup.
