FKF suspends Gaspo women’s team manager following allegations of sexual harassment

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has taken action against Gaspo Women’s team manager Edward Githua following allegations of sexual harassment. These allegations are reported to have occurred between 2021 and 2023.

Multiple underage players, some of whom served as ball girls for the team, have accused Mr. Githua of inappropriate behavior. The FKF has suspended Mr. Githua from all football activities and he will appear before the FKF Disciplinary Committee to respond to the allegations made against him.

The FKF Safeguarding Department has contacted Mr. Githua to address the allegations. The federation is determined to ensure justice for all parties involved but will refrain from further comments until the FKF Disciplinary Committee reaches a resolution.

In terms of the team’s performance, Gaspo Women’s team is currently in second-last place in the FKF Women Premier League. After ten matches played, they have accumulated 5 points, with one win, two draws, and seven defeats.
