Okutoyi sweeps competition with double victory in USA tournament

Angella Okutoyi, a rising tennis player from Kenya, has had a successful run at the 2023 W35 Naples tournament. She has secured a spot in the doubles semifinals and singles quarterfinals of the event, which is recognized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). In the doubles category, Okutoyi, along with her partner Carolyn Ansari, achieved a convincing victory over Malkia Menguene and Clervie Ngounoue from the United States. They won the match in straight sets, with a score of 6-2, 6-4. Their next opponents will be Taiwan’s Chieh-Yu Hsu and Japan’s Mayuka Aikawa.

In the singles quarterfinals, Okutoyi faced off against United States player Alexa Noel in a closely contested match. After a hard-fought battle, Okutoyi emerged victorious with a 7-6, 0-6, 7-5 win. Her next singles match is scheduled for Friday night. On the other hand, Ansari also secured a place in the quarterfinals by defeating her American opponent Allura Zamarripa, with a final score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
