Kenya Police have expressed their interest in signing Murang’a Seal winger Eric Balecho on a free transfer. The official documents show that the law administrators, led by CEO Chris Mmbwanga, wrote a letter to Seal stating their intention to acquire the young player. Police are keen to sign Balecho during the mid-season transfer window. However, Balecho is currently under contract with Seal until mid-2025, so a suitable transfer fee would need to be agreed upon for the transfer to take place.
Balecho’s recent impressive performances have caught the attention of Kenya Police. He was even called up to the national football team, Harambee Stars, in November 2023. Balecho was also an important player in Seal’s promotion to the top-tier league for the first time in their history during the 22/23 National Super League campaign. Both Kenya Police and Seal ended the first leg of the season with 24 points, but Police currently sit in eighth place on the standings due to a better goal difference, while Seal is in tenth place.
The timing of Kenya Police’s interest in Balecho aligns with the mid-season transfer window. However, the deal cannot be finalized without Seal’s agreement and a suitable transfer fee.
