On January 6, 2024, Kenneth Muguna played a significant role in Police FC’s 3-0 victory over Kakamega Homeboyz in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match. Muguna, who was celebrating his 28th birthday, not only scored a goal but also provided a beautiful assist during the game held at the Police Sacco Stadium.
In the first half, Mohamed scored a goal for Homeboyz in an attempt to get back in the game, but Police FC’s defense held strong and stopped any further attacks. After halftime, Police FC continued their dominance, causing problems for their opponents. Muguna secured the second goal for Police FC just seven minutes into the second half.
In the 57th minute, left-back Abud Omar delivered a precise cross into the danger area, leading to Sudanese forward Tito Okello scoring and extending Police FC’s lead to 3-0. The victory contributed to Homeboyz dropping two places in the league standings, with Police FC now reaping the rewards.
Additional matches were scheduled for Sunday. Murang’a Seal, sponsored by SportPesa, would face off against Kariobangi Sharks, while Bidco United had a match against Sofapaka FC. Meanwhile, KCB FC would compete against Tusker FC, and Ulinzi Stars would visit AFC Leopards at Nyayo National Stadium.
Bandari FC and Nairobi City Stars were able to overtake Homeboyz in the league standings after winning their respective matches. Bandari FC secured a 1-0 victory against Nzoia Sugar at Mbaraki Grounds, while City Stars demolished FC Talanta with a resounding 3-0 win at Kasarani Annex.
