Ghana has omitted Arsenal star Thomas Partey from their squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. Partey is still recovering from an injury he sustained and will not be able to participate in the tournament.
Ghana coach Chris Hughton has named a squad of 27 players who could represent the Black Stars in the competition. The team is placed in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique. The Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to take place from 13 January to 11 February 2024.
The squad includes English Premier League player Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United, Andre Ayew, and his brother Jordan Ayew. Inaki Williams, an Athletic Bilbao forward, forms part of the striking trio alongside Antoine Semenyo and Jonathan Sowah.
Ghana is aiming to win their fifth Africa Cup of Nations title and are considered as favorites to take the crown from the current holders, Senegal.
